Small ideas for a fuller everyday

Practical, research-informed pieces about play, creativity, family routines and life with pets. Written to be useful on an ordinary Tuesday, not to sell you something.

The first stories are on their way

The Journal opens with a small collection about screen-free play, coloring and creativity, and family routines that leave room for play. Each piece is reviewed before it is published, so nothing appears here until it is genuinely ready.

In the meantime, biiwow Unplugged has 400 screen-free games to choose from today, and the coloring books print at home.

How the Journal is written

Who writes it. Articles are written and published by biiwow, the small independent company that also makes the books and apps mentioned in them. Every piece carries the real name of its author.

Where the guidance comes from. We link to public guidance from organisations such as the American Academy of Pediatrics, Harvard's Center on the Developing Child, the CDC, UNICEF and NAEYC, and say what each source is: usually expert guidance or a research summary, not a single study. None of those organisations has reviewed or endorsed biiwow or its products. Activity ideas are editorial suggestions, not tested interventions.

What it is not. General information for families, not medical, psychological or veterinary advice. If you are worried about a child's or an animal's development or health, please talk to a professional who knows them.

Products and corrections. When an article mentions a biiwow product it says so plainly, and the mention is there because it is relevant, never because of a paid placement; there are none. If something is out of date or wrong, tell us and we will correct it and note the date of the change.
