Terms & conditions

Starter content — these terms must be completed and reviewed by a qualified professional before launch.

Le pagine legali sono fornite in inglese in attesa della revisione professionale (e delle traduzioni revisionate). La versione inglese è quella vincolante.

To complete before launch

Before taking real payments: add the operating legal entity's name and address (the KvK number is published), the jurisdiction and governing law, and the complaints/ODR wording required where you sell. The digital-content sections below describe how the shop actually behaves, but they are not a substitute for legal review. Physical-product sections: the reseller and product-liability wording relies on BW 7:24(2) and the EU product-liability and product safety rules — have counsel confirm it, and remember that if biiwow imports directly from outside the EU, biiwow itself is the importer / responsible economic operator and cannot pass those claims on.

Using this website

This website provides information about the biiwow brand and sells digital books and, where listed, physical lifestyle products (home, active, travel, pets and family accessories). It is operated from the Netherlands, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 42145985. Content is provided in good faith but may change as we build. Sections that only apply to physical products say so.

Buying a digital book

Adding a book to your basket is not an order. Your order is placed when you complete payment on Stripe's hosted checkout page, and accepted when we make the download available to you. Prices shown include any tax we are required to add at checkout; the exact amount is confirmed by Stripe before you pay, based on where you are.

If a book is listed at an obviously wrong price, we may decline the order and refund you in full rather than deliver at that price.

Delivery and your right to cancel

Books are delivered as files, immediately after payment. Because delivery is immediate, we ask you to confirm at checkout that you want the files straight away and understand that this ends the 14-day right to withdraw that would otherwise apply to a consumer purchase. You cannot complete a purchase without giving that confirmation, and we record when you gave it.

This does not limit your rights if something is actually wrong with what you received. Delivery & refunds explains what we do in that case.

What your purchase allows

Buying a book gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to download it and print it as many times as you like for your own household, or for the children in your own classroom, group or childminding setting. You may keep your own backup copies.

You may not:

  • share, upload, email or otherwise distribute the file to people outside that group;
  • sell, sub-licence or include it in another product, free or paid;
  • reproduce the illustrations separately from the book, or present them as your own work.

Copyright in the books, illustrations, characters and the biiwow name and logo stays with the site owner. If you would like to use something beyond the licence above — a school licence, for example — just ask.

Keeping access to what you bought

A purchase does not expire and there is no subscription. Individual download links are short-lived for security, and new ones can be generated at any time from your downloads. Each file has a generous cap on total downloads to discourage link sharing; contact us if you reach it legitimately and we will raise it.

We aim to keep files available indefinitely, but we cannot promise a specific period. If we ever had to withdraw a title, we would tell buyers first so they could download a copy. Please keep your own copy of anything you rely on.

Physical products: what we sell and how we choose it

biiwow is a curated shop, not a marketplace. We do not manufacture the physical products we sell: we select them from third-party manufacturers and suppliers, and we resell them to you. Before a product is listed we apply the same standard to every item:

  • Safe to use and made from safe materials. We only list products for which the supplier has declared compliance with the EU safety rules that apply to that product, and we do not list products that are missing required markings, warnings or instructions.
  • Solid and well made. We look for products that are built to last and to be used every day, and we prefer to inspect a sample before we list an item.
  • Responsibly chosen. Where we describe a material or a manufacturing practice as better for the environment, we say specifically what is meant (for example "made from cork" or "shipped without plastic filling") rather than making general environmental claims we cannot back up.
  • Made for an active, organised everyday life. Our products are accessories for exercise, organisation, travel, pets and family life. They are not medical devices and we make no health, therapeutic or medical claims about them. If you have a medical condition or an injury, ask a qualified professional before using exercise equipment.
  • Traceable. Each product page names the manufacturer (or the brand responsible for the product) and, where the manufacturer is outside the EU, the economic operator established in the EU who is responsible for it, with an address you can write to. That information is also on the product or its packaging.

These are our sourcing standards. They describe how we select products; they are not an additional guarantee beyond the statutory rights described below.

Physical products: our role as reseller, and your rights

Reseller status. We provide the product; we do not design or make it. The manufacturer is responsible for the product's design, materials, safety and compliance, and is identified on the product page as described above. We will give you the identity and contact details of the manufacturer, importer or other responsible economic operator on request, within one month.

Your statutory rights are not limited. As the seller we remain responsible to you, as required by law, if a product does not conform to the contract (for example it is faulty, damaged on arrival, or not what was described). In that case you can ask us for repair or replacement and, where the law provides, a price reduction or a refund, and nothing in these terms limits those rights, the rules on the burden of proof, or your 14-day right of withdrawal for physical goods.

Product-liability and consequential claims go to the manufacturer. Claims for personal injury, or for damage to property other than the product itself, that are caused by a safety defect in a product are governed by the statutory product-liability rules and are, to the extent permitted by mandatory law (in the Netherlands including Article 7:24(2) of the Civil Code), to be brought directly against the manufacturer or the importer, not against biiwow. We are not liable for such damage unless we knew of the defect, or promised it did not exist, or the law provides otherwise. We will help you identify the right party, and we may in turn recover from our suppliers any amount we have to pay because of a defect they are responsible for.

Other losses. To the extent permitted by mandatory law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss (such as lost income or the cost of arrangements you made in reliance on a delivery date), except where the loss is caused by our intent or gross negligence. We remain responsible for the product itself as described above.

Use as intended. Please read the instructions and warnings supplied with a product and use it only for its intended purpose. Exercise accessories should be used on a stable surface, checked for wear before each use and kept away from children unless the product is made for them.

Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Refunds, when made, go back through Stripe to the original payment method, and full refunds disable the download links for that order.

Liability

We take care that the files work as described and that the physical products we resell are as described. We are responsible for loss that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care, and we do not exclude liability where the law does not allow it — including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or your statutory rights as a consumer. We are not responsible for loss caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, or for your device being unable to open or print a standard PDF. For physical products, the section "our role as reseller" above explains which claims are made against the manufacturer rather than against us.

Intellectual property

The biiwow name, logo and site content belong to the site owner and may not be reused without permission.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the shop grows. The terms that apply to your purchase are the ones published when you bought — changing them later does not change what you agreed to.
