biiwow Unplugged is a collection of ideas for adults. It suggests games and experiments to do with children using everyday household things. It is not childcare, teaching, medical or safety advice, and nothing in it has been tested with your child, in your home, with your materials.
Who is responsible
Every game is carried out entirely at the responsibility of the parent, guardian, or whoever is organising and supervising it. That person alone decides whether an activity is suitable for the child in front of them, chooses and checks the materials, supervises from start to finish, and is responsible for anything that happens as a result — including injury, allergic reaction, damage to property, or mess. biiwow provides the idea; you provide the judgement.
Safety notes are reminders, not a checklist
Some games carry a ⚠ Watch out note. These highlight common hazards we know about — heat, small parts, sharp tools, chemicals, allergens, water. They are not complete and cannot be: what is dangerous depends on your child, your home and your materials. A game without a warning is not a game without risk. Steps marked as adult-only must be done by an adult.
Ages are guidance
Age ranges describe when a game typically works. Children differ. If your child is younger than an age range, or puts things in their mouth, or has any condition that changes what is safe for them, decide accordingly.
Nothing is a substitute for being in the room
No game here is designed to be done by a child alone. Stay present, stay within reach of young children, and stop any game that is not going well.
